About the 4th & 5th Grade Center

Welcome to the 4th and 5th Grade Center! 

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Upper Perkiomen 4th & 5th Grade Center! My name is Art Vigilante, the principal of the Upper Perkiomen 4th & 5th Grade Center. It is my goal to support every child as they transition to the 4-5 Center, where we strive to provide an educational environment that allows all students to realize their individual potential. It is my belief that the most impactful influence in the development of a child occurs when schools and families work together, which is why I highly encourage regular communication between home and school. Mr. Vigilante grew up in Scranton, PA and attended Gettysburg College where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with teaching certification in Elementary Education. He continued his studies at Saint Joseph’s University, earning a Masters of Science in Educational Administration with principal’s certification and certification in
Supervision of Curriculum and Instruction. Upon graduation from college, Mr. Vigilante was a classroom teacher in grades three through seven, over the course of eight years, in the Philadelphia and Allentown School Districts.
In 2002, he was hired in the Upper Perkiomen School District. Over the next ten years, he served the district as an assistant principal at the Upper Perkiomen Middle School and then spentsix years as an assistant principal at the
Upper Perkiomen High School prior to becoming principal of the 4th & 5th Grade Center in 2019. During his
time period at Upper Perk, Mr. Vigilante has been involved in numerous initiatives and committees at both
the building and district levels developing a wealth of experience in many educational aspects.
